Not affiliated with AWS. PassCWI is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the American Welding Society (AWS). "CWI," "Certified Welding Inspector," and "AWS" are marks of the American Welding Society, used here only to describe the exam this material helps you prepare for.

1. Educational use — no guarantee

PassCWI provides practice material to help candidates prepare for the AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) examination, with an emphasis on the Part B practical. It is a study aid only. It is not the AWS exam, is not a substitute for AWS D1.1 or any AWS standard or seminar, and does not certify or qualify anyone. We make no guarantee of a passing result or any particular exam outcome. Always rely on the current edition of the applicable AWS code and the official AWS exam body of knowledge as your authority.

2. Content accuracy & draft status

Specimen calls, measurements, and reasoning are original works created by PassCWI. Material marked "draft" or "pending CWI review" has not yet been verified by a credentialed Certified Welding Inspector and is shown for practice only — do not treat it as exam-authoritative until that notice is removed. We reference AWS acceptance criteria by citation only; we do not reproduce AWS code text or AWS exam specimens. If you believe a call is wrong, email us — see Contact.

3. Privacy — what we collect

If you choose to enter your email address, we collect that address (and, if present, the campaign/source parameters in the link you arrived through) to send you study material and product updates. Email is stored and sent through our email provider, Kit (ConvertKit). We do not sell your information. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us.

Collected: email address; basic source attribution (UTM parameters); anonymous, aggregate usage analytics.
Not collected: we do not ask for or store payment-card data — purchases are handled by our payment processor.
Processors: Kit (email), Cloudflare (hosting), and our payment processor for any paid product.

4. Paid products & refunds

The simulator is free. Paid products (such as the Part B Specimen Field Guide) are sold through our payment processor and carry the refund terms stated at checkout. If a paid item contains an error in a verified call, contact us for a correction or refund.

5. Limitation of liability

PassCWI is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PassCWI and its owner are not liable for any loss arising from use of the material, including exam results or decisions made in reliance on it. Inspection of real welds must be performed by qualified personnel against the governing code — never on the basis of this study aid.
